Frontier.

FRONTIER: "an outer limit in a field of endeavor, esp. one in which the opportunities for research and development have not been exploited"
When the word is used in surfing terms people often get a warm fuzzy feeling in their head of being the first to confront their "frontier".
Its everyones dream to search and find their own frontier and surf a wave that has never been surfed but in reality with so many surfers and bodyboarders out there the chances of finding the gold at the end of the rainbow are fast drying up. Luckily bodyboarders will always have a chance, in the form of a surgy sucking warping slab of rock shelf just centimeters under the surface.
These photos are of one of the new discoveries myself and a select few know about and will be sure to keep under wraps......

Not really the best
This morning i was up at sparrows fart to get to Wesly Potts place in Rondebosch. From there we jumped into little bus driven by the clown with the new licence, Aden Kleve. The crew consisted out of myself, Aden, Wesley, Greg Fraser, Daniel Worsley and Sho (shmeegle) Apon arriving at the super fun and consistent Caves, we were met with choppy hard side shores, not the greatest thing for early morning! we hit the water anyways and got a few here and there. The lineup was filled with other bodyboarders aswell. Riders included in the above pics are Ratt, Ian Kruger and Andrew Raath. Click images to enlarge.

Isolation
The Canary Islands are probably one of the most strange looking set of islands anywhere in the world. When you first arrive there it looks like you have landed on the moon with mountains of volcanic dust and rock with nearly no trees or foliage to speak of. The waves are almost built only for bodyboarders which you would think is a god send but in reality it means that you are sharing the waves with bodyboarders that are very protective and know exactly how to hassle in the lineup. This forced Byron Loubser and me to seek other spots. This is one of the waves we found near town. This day had 4 of us out, the most crowded day we had! Most of the time we had it to ourselves! hit the pic to enlarge it.

Rory Lancellas
Rory Lancellas grew up in Glencairn, a small town set in a valley between Simons Town and Fish Hoek on Cape Towns False Bay coast. He used to tell me stories of Poltergeist activities that used to occur in his friends house and that the town has a reputation of strange paranormal activities with chairs and other household goods being tossed around...Creepy stuff. Mabye all that weird stuff going on when he was a kid makes him fear nothing. Here he is easing through a rather eery looking Kalk Bay cavern, trying not to disturb the "shadows"......
